Putin orders to reduce price of railway food transportation
MOSCOW, Jun 8 (PRIME) -- President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government, Russian Railways, and the Russian Export Centre to consider reducing the cost of railway transportation of agricultural products, raw materials, and food in order to stimulate exports, the Kremlin said in a statement on Monday.
The authorities should report on the order until August 1.
“The government … shall work together with Russian Railways and the Russian Export Centre to stimulate exports of agricultural products, raw materials, and food and consider the possibility of reducing the transportation costs for these products by railway. The report shall be submitted until August 1, 2020,” the statement read.
The government should also work with the regional authorities and develop additional measures for expansion of sales channels for farmers until July 1, the Kremlin said.
Putin also ordered the government to submit proposals to develop a mechanism to reduce volatility of the grain prices for flour producers by August 1.
